BMKG forecasts light rain across parts of Jakarta on Wednesday afternoon
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecast that parts of the DKI Jakarta region would be hit by light-intensity rainfall on Wednesday afternoon.
Citing the official BMKG Instagram account @infobmkg in Jakarta on Wednesday, light-intensity rain was expected in West Jakarta, East Jakarta and North Jakarta during the afternoon.
Meanwhile, moderate-intensity rain was forecast for South Jakarta, whilst Central Jakarta and the Thousand Islands were blanketed by thick cloud cover.
On Wednesday morning at around 10.00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB), light rain fell evenly across Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, South Jakarta, North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands.
Moving into the afternoon, light-intensity rain was expected to fall evenly across the entire DKI Jakarta region, with the exception of the Thousand Islands Regency, which was predicted to be covered by thick cloud.
From Wednesday evening through to the early hours of Thursday, thick cloud cover was expected to envelop the entire DKI Jakarta region.
Separately, air temperatures in DKI Jakarta were forecast to range between 24 and 29 degrees Celsius, with wind speeds of approximately 1 to 19 kilometres per hour.
