BMKG Forecasts Cloudy to Rainy Conditions Across Most of Indonesia on Friday

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts that weather across most of Indonesia will be cloudy to rainy with varying intensities on Friday. BMKG forecaster Adelia Febby detailed the potential for thunderstorms in Medan and moderate rain in Jambi and Palembang. “There is potential for light rain in Banda Aceh, Pekanbaru, Padang, Tanjung Pinang, Bengkulu, Pangkal Pinang, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, Samarinda, and Tanjung Selor,” she said. In addition to rain, BMKG predicts partly cloudy conditions in Serang, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, and Palangka Raya. Turning to eastern Indonesia, Adelia urged the public to be vigilant for moderate to light intensity rain. “For eastern Indonesia, be aware of potential moderate rain in Mamuju, and light rain in Kupang, Palu, Manado, Ternate, Ambon, Sorong, Manokwari, Nabire, and Jayawijaya,” Adelia stated. Meanwhile, cloudy to thick cloudy conditions are forecast for Denpasar, Makassar, and Jayapura. Finally, BMKG detected potential smoke haze in Kendari, and hazy conditions are forecast for Mataram, Gorontalo, and Merauke.
