BMK Ready to Ensure Success of Kosgoro 1957's National Conference

Jakarta, VIVA – The General Secretary of the Central Executive Board of the Golkar Party, M Sarmuji, believes that Muspinas III of BMK 1957 needs to review all work programmes. The aim is to use them as a basis for compiling a general programme following the deliberation. Sarmuji considers the programme important to formulate because it aligns with the developments of the times. “Why? Something must be relevant to society, while also being relaxed and relevant to the era. Yes, this is important: BMK 1957 is an organisation within the body affiliated with the Golkar Party that can serve as a vehicle for socialisation, introducing what politics is through ways that may not be overtly political,” said Sarmuji after opening Muspinas III of BMK 1957 at the Golkar Party’s Central Executive Board, on Sunday, 19 April 2026. Sarmuji gave examples that BMK 1957 could organise light events, but there must be political education, such as music events to sports events, all tailored to the desires and hobbies of young people. “Among students, we can create online tutoring which not many people have done yet, or we can hold courses, job interviews, and so on without hard political messages,” he explained. He also noted that young people sometimes dislike hard political messages, but prefer invitations, involvement, and the like. “Gradual involvement will make someone feel on the same wavelength, feel a commonality of sentiment, so they will gradually become interested in the party. If the activities are relatable and relevant to young people on campus, even better,” he said. The General Chairman of Barisan Muda Kosgoro (BMK) 1957, Kemas Ilham Akbar, stated that in Muspinas III of BMK 1957, they want to immortalise and designate HR Agung Laksono as the Father of Kosgoro 1957, and include it in the statutes of Kosgoro 1957. “We want Pak HR Agung Laksono to become the Father of Kosgoro 1957, because of his services not only in founding it along with the other founders, but also in nurturing it, providing broad and very focused attention, managing all cadres not only at the central level, but even at the regional level they feel it,” he revealed. Therefore, continued Ilham, in this Muspinas III, it will become the main agenda to be fought for and must be achieved at the upcoming Mubes of Kosgoro 1957.
