Jakarta, VIVA – The National Leadership Council of Bintang Muda Indonesia (DPN BMI) has issued a strong condemnation against the circulation of hoax content and slander uploaded by the YouTube channel “Dibikin Channel”.

The irresponsible content, lacking any clear basis, has accused the General Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), along with Puan Maharani and Rizieq Shihab, of acting as coordinators in spreading the issue regarding the diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

According to the General Chairman of DPN BMI, Farhan Efendi, through the Daily Chairman of DPN BMI, Aditiya Utama, the narrative constructed by the channel is not merely misinformation, but a structured cybercrime and a malicious character assassination effort aimed at damaging AHY’s image and disrupting the current conducive national political stability.

“The accusation that AHY is colluding and funding a movement to delegitimise a former head of state is cheap slander that is utterly baseless and constitutes a deeply vile personal attack,” said Farhan in Jakarta on Sunday, 29 March 2026.

Currently, Farhan stated, AHY is fully focused on carrying out his mandate under President Prabowo’s leadership as Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development. Moreover, AHY’s relationship with Jokowi has always been very harmonious and productive.

BMI assesses that there are parties dissatisfied with AHY’s performance, hence they are attempting to use trashy narratives and technological manipulation to divide national figures.

As a party wing organisation, BMI emphasises that AHY is a gentleman fighter with high integrity and strong military ethics, making it highly illogical to link him to the outdated diploma issue that has been repeatedly debunked.

“What the channel has done is a form of ‘cheap politics’ that is disgusting because it uses digitally fabricated audio recordings to pit national figures against each other,” he said.

Therefore, BMI fully supports the steps taken by the Legal and Security Body of the Democratic Party (BHPP DPP) to immediately bring the channel’s operators to legal proceedings to ensure Indonesia’s digital space is free from hoax producers.
