BMG warns of bad weather

JAKARTA: The Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG) warned on Monday of possible storms in the next two or three days in parts of Indonesia.

BMG spokesman Ahmad Zakir said heavy winds were expected in the Sunda Straits, Java Sea, the northern part of the Thousand Islands, along Java's southern coast and along the west coast of South Sulawesi.

"Those traveling by sea should take this into consideration," he said.

Zakir said the BMG would update its weather forecasts every 12 hours and inform the public and transportation authorities of any developments. -- Antara
