A human resources manager at PT BlueRay Cargo, Viny Liverie Lie, testified that she prepared 13 envelopes for officials at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. One of the envelopes contained Rp 5 billion and was marked with the code ‘D’.

Lie was testifying at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Tuesday (14/7/2026) in the trial of three senior customs officials. She stated that the company’s owner, John Field, instructed her to prepare the envelopes.

When questioned by prosecutors, Lie confirmed that the 13 envelopes were all intended for customs officials, referred to internally as ‘sales 2’. She stated that the payments were made until December 2025, but she was unsure if the specific official designated by the code ‘D’ was a customs officer, saying only that John Field had told her the code referred to customs.

The three defendants in the case are Rizal, Director of Enforcement and Investigation at Customs; Sisprian Subiaksono, Head of the Intelligence Sub-Directorate; and Orlando Hamonangan, Head of the Customs Intelligence Section I. They are accused of accepting bribes and gratuities totalling Rp 78.8 billion.

Prosecutors detailed that the defendants allegedly received Rp 61.7 billion in cash and entertainment facilities worth Rp 1.8 billion from John Field, the head of BlueRay Cargo Group, along with two other company managers. Additionally, the three defendants, together with another customs official, Budiman Bayu Prasojo, are accused of accepting gratuities from various importers and cigarette entrepreneurs. These gratuities totalled Rp 15.2 billion, comprising sums in rupiah, Singapore dollars, US dollars, Hong Kong dollars, and Malaysian ringgit.
