Jakarta – Prosecutors from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have demanded a three-year prison sentence for PT Blueray Cargo executive John Field in a corruption case related to import manipulation and bribery of customs officials. Field was also ordered to pay a fine of Rp300 million, which will be replaced by 100 days in custody if not paid.

KPK Prosecutor Takdir stated during a hearing at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court on Monday, 22 June 2026, that Field’s actions had tarnished the reputation of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Finance. Two other defendants in the same case, Dedy Kurniawan Sukolo, Blueray’s Operational Manager for Port Custom Clearance, and Andri, Head of Blueray’s Import Document Team, each face a sentence of two years and six months in prison, along with fines of Rp200 million, or an alternative 80 days in custody.

The panel of judges scheduled the next hearing for 29 June 2026, when the defendants and their legal counsel will present their defence pleas. According to the indictment, John Field, together with Dedy and Andri, communicated with several officials at the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise to obtain facilities in the import process for the Blueray Cargo group.

The scheme began with complaints about high levels of red-channel inspections and lengthy dwelling times. The defendants subsequently gained access to internal information regarding importer risk mapping sourced from the customs directorate’s confidential database. This data was then processed to determine entry channels for imported goods with a lower inspection risk, allowing Blueray Cargo’s shipments to clear customs supervision more quickly.

Prosecutors also revealed alleged provision of various facilities and luxury goods to several customs officials between July 2025 and January 2026. These included entertainment worth Rp1.45 billion, a Tag Heuer luxury watch valued at Rp65 million, and a Mazda CX-5 car worth Rp330 million.
