Blueray Boss Charged with Bribing Customs Officials Rp61 Billion
The head of Blueray Cargo (Group), John Field, has been charged with bribing several officials at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise with a total of Rp61 billion in cash and entertainment facilities and luxury goods worth Rp1.8 billion.
The bribery offence was committed by John Field together with Defendant II Dedy Kurniawan Sukolo, as Operational Manager for Customs Clearance at the Port for Blueray Cargo (Group), and Defendant III Andri, as Head of the Import Documents Team at Blueray Cargo (Group).
The bribe recipients consisted of Director of Enforcement and Investigation, Rizal; Deputy Head of Intelligence at the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation, Sisprian Subiaksono; and Head of Customs Intelligence Section I at the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation, Orlando Hamonangan.
This is contained in the indictment letter from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Public Prosecutors, read out at the first hearing at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN), on Wednesday (6/5).
“That Defendant I John Field together with Defendants II and III has given money in the total amount of Rp61,301,939,000, in Singapore Dollars (SGD) or at least that amount, and provisions in the form of entertainment facilities and luxury goods worth Rp1,845,000,000, or at least that amount, to officials at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia,” stated the KPK prosecutor when reading the indictment.
From that amount, Rizal received at least Rp14,000,000,000, Sisprian Rp7,000,000,000, and Orlando around Rp4,050,000,000. The remainder was enjoyed by other parties not yet prosecuted. One of them is Enov Puji Wijanarko, as Head of Import Enforcement Section I at the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation.
Meanwhile, the details of the facilities provided to the Customs and Excise officials include entertainment facilities worth Rp1,450,000,000, one Tag Heuer brand watch worth Rp65,000,000 to Orlando, and one Mazda CX-5 vehicle worth Rp330,000,000 to Enov Puji Wijanarko.
The bribes were given between July 2025 and January 2026. Locations included the Central Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Rawamangun, East Jakarta; Hotel Borobudur, Central Jakarta; Phoenix Gastrobar, Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta; So Restaurant, Bar Mall of Indonesia, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.
Then at the Lobby Mall of Indonesia, North Jakarta; Hotel Grand Mercure, Central Jakarta; Jin Resto Japanese Artha Gading, North Jakarta; Hotel Prama Sanur Beach Bali, Sanur Kauh, South Denpasar.
Prosecutors revealed that the bribes were given so that the officials at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise would facilitate the faster release of Blueray Cargo (Group)’s imported goods from customs supervision processes.
The actions of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise officials contradict Article 5 paragraphs 4 and 6 of Law No. 28 of 1999 on the Administration of a Clean State Free from Corruption, Collusion, and Nepotism (KKN).
As well as Article 12, Article 23 letters d, e, and f of Law No. 5 of 2014 on Civil Servants (ASN), and Articles 7 and 8 of Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) No. 190/PMK.01/2018 on the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct in the Ministry of Finance Environment.
The actions of the Defendants constitute a criminal act of corruption as regulated and punishable under Article 605 paragraph (1) letter a of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP) jo Article VII number 48 Article 605 letter a of Law No. 1 of 2026 on Penalty Adjustment jo Article 20 letter c jo Article 126 paragraph (1) KUHP.
