Blueprint for stock mart

JAKARTA (JP): The Capital Market Supervisory Agency is scheduled to announce today a five-year stock market development blueprint.

The agency's chairman, I Gede Putu Ary Suta, said yesterday that the blueprint will cover all strategies to develop local capital markets within the next five years.

"Maybe some parties consider the presence of this blueprint as too late. However, it is important to note that we have tried our best to initiate the drafting of this blueprint to implement the 1995 capital market law," Putu announced after speaking at a seminar.

He explained that the blueprint is aimed at encouraging securities companies to invest in the infrastructure to better serve their customers.

The blueprint is also to encourage securities firms to provide services with a high level of security to build investors' confidence in the local stock exchanges.

In addition, it is to ensure that all parties on the stock exchanges, especially the share issuers, comply with the principles of disclosure.

It is also to ensure consistent law enforcement on capital market rules to protect investors and those who are actively involved in stock market-related activities. (rid)
