Bluebird Prime Offers Innova Zenix Hybrid and BYD E6
Bluebird Group has introduced a fleet of Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid EV and BYD E6 vehicles in its latest service, Bluebird Prime. The President Director of PT Blue Bird Tbk, Andre Djokosoetono, said the two vehicles offer passengers more spacious interiors and an alternative positioned below the Silverbird taxi service.
“This is here to provide one level above the comfort already available in the regular Bluebird,” he said at the launch of the Bluebird Prime service at Senayan City Mall, Jakarta, on Thursday, 16 July 2026.
Andre said the company owns a total of 225 BYD E6 units this year, while the recorded number of Innova Zenix Hybrid EVs stands at 300 units.
Bluebird operates the Innova Zenix Hybrid EV and BYD E6 in Jakarta. Meanwhile, Bandung, Surabaya, Medan and Bali currently only provide the BYD E6 fleet.
Bookings can be made through the MyBlueBird application by selecting the Bluebird Prime option, or via the call centre, official taxi stands, or by hailing one on the street. Andre assured that the fares for this new service remain affordable — cheaper than Silverbird, but 10-20 per cent higher than the regular Bluebird.
“So it is affordable both for special occasions and for everyday journeys that genuinely require greater comfort and more spacious interiors,” he said.
Andre said the two different fleets within the Bluebird Prime portfolio were chosen for their reliability, stability and comfort. The company is seeking to better match the needs of prospective passengers through business diversification.
In terms of maintenance, each fleet carries its own costs depending on required expenditure and resale value. However, the service life of both hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs) is the same as petrol-fuelled taxis, at five years. “In terms of total cost of ownership, essentially they are already at par (equivalent),” said Andre.
