Bluebird Prime Offers Innova Zenix Hybrid and BYD E6

The Bluebird Group has introduced the Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid EV and BYD E6 to its fleet under the new Bluebird Prime service. PT Blue Bird Tbk President Director Andre Djokosoetono stated that the two vehicles offer passengers more spacious interiors and an alternative below the Silverbird taxi tier. “This is here to provide a level of comfort above the existing regular Bluebird service,” he said during the Bluebird Prime launch event at Senayan City Mall, Jakarta, on Thursday, 16 July 2026. Andre noted that the company has acquired a total of 225 BYD E6 units this year, alongside 300 registered Innova Zenix Hybrid EV units. Bluebird is operating the Innova Zenix Hybrid EV and BYD E6 in Jakarta, whilst Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, and Bali currently only offer the BYD E6. Bookings for these taxis can be made via the MyBlueBird application by selecting the Bluebird Prime option, or through the call centre, official taxi stands, and street hailing. Andre confirmed that the new service’s fares remain affordable, cheaper than Silverbird but 10-20 per cent higher than regular Bluebird. “This makes it accessible for special occasions as well as daily journeys that require greater comfort and more space,” he said. Andre explained that the two different vehicle types in the Bluebird Prime portfolio were chosen based on considerations of reliability, stability, and comfort. The company is striving to better meet the needs of prospective passengers through business diversification. In terms of maintenance, each vehicle type has its own cost structure depending on required expenses and resale value. However, the service life of both hybrid and electric vehicles is the same as petrol-powered taxis, which is five years. “When talking about total cost of ownership, the bottom line is that it is already at par,” Andre concluded.
