We are seeing a travel pattern that is increasingly concentrated before and after Eid.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Blue Bird Tbk is preparing a number of strategies to optimise services during the 2026 Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period, one of which is preparing 25,000 vehicles.

At the Bluebird Iftar Gathering in Jakarta on Thursday, Bluebird’s Chief Marketing Officer, Monita Moerdani, said that this readiness was designed strategically by considering the surge in mobility during the most crucial period.

According to her, the community’s travel patterns during Ramadan to Eid have changed, focusing on iftar agendas, maintaining relationships, to homecoming and return trips.

“We are seeing a travel pattern that is increasingly concentrated before and after Eid. Therefore, we ensure the readiness of more than 25,000 vehicles, including fleet rejuvenation, both for Bluebird, Silverbird, Goldenbird, Bigbird, Cititrans, and Bluebird Kirim services,” said Monita.

She said the company ensures the availability of fleets in more than 1,300 locations throughout Indonesia, especially in various major mobility points such as shopping centres, culinary areas, residential areas and hotels, as well as airports, stations and terminals which are crucial transportation hubs during homecoming and return trips.

This is in line with the YouGov survey regarding the 2026 Eid travel window which shows that 43 per cent of the public plans to start their homecoming trip two to six days before Eid. For the return trip, even 51 per cent of respondents plan to return two to six days after Eid.

This data confirms that the period of 2-6 days before and after Eid is the most crucial phase for transportation services.

In addition, Bluebird Group’s internal data for 2025 also shows a positive trend in the return flow phase.

For Bluebird taxi services, a number of cities in Java, such as Bandung, Semarang, and Yogyakarta, as well as Medan and Makassar, recorded an average growth of up to 20 per cent compared to the period before Ramadan, with some cities showing higher increases.

In the intercity sector, Cititrans recorded a growth of almost 23 per cent during the Eid and return trip periods compared to the previous week.

On the other hand, Bluebird Kirim recorded a surge in transactions of up to 62 per cent during Ramadan compared to a month before fasting.

Various initiatives are also realised through the optimisation of features in the MyBluebird application, including Advance Booking which allows customers to schedule trips in advance according to the iftar agenda, maintaining relationships, or homecoming trips, as well as Fixed Price which provides price certainty so that customers remain calm even in dense traffic conditions.
