Blora teams up with ANTARA to put regional potential on the global map

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Blora Regent Arief Rohman is ready to strengthen the synergy of publication and promotion of the region’s potential in the eastern part of Central Java Province through a strategic partnership with the ANTARA News Agency. ‘We hope the communication with ANTARA can continue to be well maintained so that positive information about Blora can be more widely known at the national level,’ said Arief Rohman during a visit to the ANTARA Jakarta office on Thursday. Arief Rohman emphasised that the media plays a strategic role in supporting regional development, particularly in disseminating information about development achievements, investment opportunities, the energy sector, food security, tourism, and culture. ‘Including the potentials that exist in Blora Regency,’ he said. He revealed that Blora Regency is known as one of the areas with the largest cattle populations in Central Java. In addition, Blora also has abundant natural energy resources, such as old oil wells, as well as a richness of local culinary heritage. ‘Blora is also known for its cuisine such as nasi pecel, rawon, opor, sate, and others. In addition, Blora is known for forests rich in teak wood.’ ‘Welcome, Mr. Regent of Blora Arief Rohman, to ANTARA Jakarta,’ said Rahmat. He also explained that ANTARA was established on 13 December 1937 and founded by four figures of the national movement: Adam Malik, Soemanang, A.M. Sipahoetar, and Pandoe Kartawigoena. Rahmat said a reciprocal visit to Blora would be arranged. ‘After the National Working Meeting in Yogyakarta later, we will visit Blora and pay a courtesy call. The information is that the cuisine there is interesting and famous to sample,’ he added. At the event, books, Blora’s organic rice, and souvenirs were presented as tokens of appreciation and to strengthen the institutional ties between the Blora Regency Government and ANTARA. Head of ANTARA’s Central Java Bureau Teguh Imam Wibowo said Blora is continuing to grow as a regency with a strategic role in safeguarding food security, energy, the economy and human resources not only at the local level but also nationally. ‘This is very interesting if it is amplified continuously so that Blora becomes better known for the potential it has,’ he said. ‘For this, ANTARA is ready to support the regional government programmes of Blora. ’ANTARA, as the state news agency, will introduce Blora and all its potential to a broader audience,’ Teguh said.
