Regent Arief Rohman is encouraging the Blora District GenRe Forum to play an active role in mapping the potential of adolescents, including school dropouts, in order to improve the quality of human resources in the region. This was stated during the inauguration of 21 members of the Blora District GenRe Forum for 2026 at the Blora Regency Pendopo on Wednesday, 22 April 2026.

“The potential of Blora’s young generation is extraordinary. I request that it be mapped out, and what programmes can be synergised, both with the population control department and the youth and sports department,” said Arief.

According to him, mapping youth potential is an important step, especially in facing the demographic bonus. He assessed that various sectors can be optimised, from arts and culture, sports, to the food sector through the involvement of millennial farmer communities.

Regent Arief also emphasised the importance of providing creative spaces for youth to avoid various social risks. “Blora’s children are creative. They need to be facilitated with events or platforms to accommodate their creativity,” he said.

In addition, he requested that GenRe programmes be aligned with national priorities, such as food security, the Free Nutritious Meals programme (MBG), and village cooperative development. He also highlighted several homework issues, including stunting and school dropout rates that still need serious attention.

Currently, he continued, only about 55–60 per cent of high school graduates in Blora continue to higher education. “We need to map out the smart children who are constrained by economics so they can be encouraged through scholarship programmes,” he said.

He also revealed opportunities for vocational high school graduates to work while studying, including job opportunities abroad such as in Japan and Korea. For this reason, the GenRe board is asked to compile realistic work programmes based on youth needs, and to strengthen synergy with regional apparatus organisations (OPD), sub-district heads, to village governments.

Meanwhile, the representative of the Central Java Provincial BKKBN, Eka Setya Ardiningsih, emphasised the importance of maintaining youth resilience amid social challenges, including the fatherless phenomenon which is seen to impact child development.

“The role of the father is very important as a companion, guide, and protector for children,” said Eka.

As an effort to strengthen the family role, BKKBN is promoting the Exemplary Father Movement of Indonesia programme (GATI). In addition, youth are reminded to improve digital literacy so they can filter positive and negative information in the digital space.

The GenRe Forum itself has an important role in disseminating information related to the triad of Adolescent Reproductive Health (KRR), namely preventing early marriage, premarital sex, and drug abuse.

The event was also attended by the Chair of the Blora District TP PKK Ainia Shalichah Arief Rohman, Acting Head of the Blora Population Control and Family Planning Department Agus Puji Mulyono, Head of the Youth, Sports, Culture, and Tourism Department Iwan Setiyarso, sub-district heads, KB management ranks, and field extensionists for family planning (PLKB). The inauguration was carried out by the GenRe Father accompanied by the GenRe Mother and witnessed by the Central Java Provincial BKKBN representative, followed by the signing of a joint commitment between the district and sub-district level boards.

The series of activities concluded with a discussion themed on the role of fathers and mothers in youth coaching, featuring speakers Ainia Shalichah and Nayla Alexandra Sudaryadi from the GenRe Forum.
