Blora (ANTARA) - The Blora Regency Government in Central Java has successfully streamlined its internet service budget across various regional device organisations (OPD) by Rp650.9 million, reducing the previous requirement of up to Rp2.56 billion to Rp1.9 billion.

“The savings were achieved through policies of standardisation and integration of more centralised internet services, which not only curbed expenditure but also improved service quality across all OPDs,” said the Head of the Communication and Informatics Department (Dinkominfo) of Blora Regency, Pratikto Nugroho, in Blora on Monday.

He revealed that previously, the regency government’s internet budget needs reached Rp2.56 billion with a capacity of 7.8 Gbps. However, after reorganisation, the budget was reduced to Rp1.90 billion with a capacity requirement of 7.4 Gbps.

According to Pratikto, the strengthening of internet network management was carried out through three main steps: budget efficiency, infrastructure optimisation, and continuous evaluation.

Through a centralised system, he said, network management becomes more measurable, efficient, and easily controlled, thereby avoiding wasteful spending.

In addition to efficiency, Dinkominfo also optimised the networks already owned by each OPD. Moreover, most regional devices already have routers, so there is no longer a need for independent internet subscriptions.

“What we did was add access points and reorganise network management so that internet distribution is more even according to performance and service needs,” he stated.

This network optimisation is also accompanied by governance arrangements, including bandwidth regulation and equitable access to prevent accumulation of usage at certain points. With this system, OPDs no longer need to subscribe to networks separately.

“Government internet network services are a primary concern. Therefore, Dinkominfo assists from cable installation to strengthening network infrastructure in regional devices,” he said.

The next step, Dinkominfo Blora will continue to conduct comprehensive evaluations of network performance across all OPDs to ensure that the implemented policies remain effective and support evolving public services.

“We will continue to evaluate so that budget efficiency and service quality can run in balance,” he added.
