Blora Government Deploys Thousands of Water Tanks to Tackle Drought Threat

The Blora Regency Government (Pemkab Blora) has moved swiftly to respond to the drought threat facing a number of areas during the dry season. Working together with the Blora Police, the distribution of clean water assistance is now being delivered to affected communities using some 1,400 water tanks.

The tactical step was marked by the symbolic dispatch of the clean water tanker fleet by Blora Regent Arief Rohman on Sunday morning (2/8). Arief emphasised that the distribution represents a form of presence and cross-agency synergy in helping meet the basic needs of communities during the dry season.

“Here in Blora the dry season has begun. We are starting to distribute clean water assistance, a synergy between the Blora Regency Government and the Blora Police,” said Arief on the sidelines of the aid dispatch.

To tackle this year’s water crisis, the Blora Regency Government has allocated a large quota of assistance through the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).

“From the APBD itself, we will prepare around 1,400 tanks. So far, about 48 tanks have been distributed to the districts of Jati and Randublatung. Today we continue the distribution to the districts of Jiken, Jepon, and Japangrejo,” Arief added.

The Regent stated that handling the impact of the dry season would be more effective if carried out through mutual cooperation. To that end, he has opened the door and invited various parties to lend a hand.

“We certainly hope for participation from the diaspora as well as from various other parties to jointly help overcome the drought in Blora,” he said.

Meanwhile, for communities or village governments whose areas are beginning to experience a clean water crisis, Arief urged them to proactively report their situation to the relevant agencies so that aid distribution can be properly recorded and accurately targeted.

“So for residents who later experience drought, they can coordinate immediately with the BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency) so that we can deliver clean water to them. Thank you, and let us symbolically dispatch the aid today,” Arief concluded.
