JAKARTA - Parking management in the Blok M area, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, has been officially taken over by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) after the previous operator was sealed for allegedly collecting illegal fees.

The Chairman of the Special Committee on Parking of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Ahmad Lukman Jupiter, stated that parking management in Blok M is now handled by the Parking Management Unit (UP Parkir) of Dishub DKI Jakarta using a non-cash payment system.

“We no longer want any leaks or games from certain individuals who collect fees from the public,” said Jupiter at the location on Monday (11/5/2026).

Such activities continued to collect fees from the public without official permission.

“In the Blok M area, illegal parking has been occurring for 3 years, collecting money from the public but without permission, illegally taking money that belongs to the public,” said Jupiter.

He also mentioned that the operator managing the parking area for approximately 15 years did not provide financial reports, account mutations, or balance sheets as requested.

The reports received by the Parking Management Unit of Dishub DKI Jakarta were also deemed inconsistent with the on-site conditions.

After the sealing and the shift in management, all exit gates of the Blok M parking area were sealed.

Officers from the UP Parkir of Dishub DKI Jakarta are updating the system so that services can resume.

Meanwhile, the Head of UP Parkir, Massdes Arouffy, targets the system upgrade to be completed in a short time so that services can return to normal.

“After this sealing, tonight we will immediately upgrade the system so that it is hoped tomorrow it can function with the new system,” said Massdes.

During the transition period, the government is also involving the TNI and Polri to ensure that extortion practices do not recur in the area.
