Blitar new home for Bung Karno Library

JAKARTA: National Library chairman Dady P. Rachmananta said a
library dedicated to the country's first president, Sukarno,
would be built on a one-hectare plot in the East Java district of
Blitar, near the founding father's grave.

He said construction of the library would commence in January
next year, with his office allocating Rp 45 billion for books and
human resource training.

The East Java administration had also pledged Rp 3.5 billion
for various facilities in the planned library.

The library consists of books written by Sukarno and other
authors about his thoughts and struggle for Indonesian
independence. --Antara
