Blibli expands marketing channels to YouTube Shopping Affiliate
Jakarta — E-commerce marketplace Blibli has expanded its marketing channels by launching a service on video-sharing platform YouTube through the YouTube Shopping Affiliate programme.
The initiative allows products recommended by content creators to be accessed directly by viewers and linked to the Blibli application, making the process of discovering products and conducting transactions simpler and more convenient.
“We understand that content creator reviews are now a crucial factor in consumer shopping considerations,” stated Merrick Jonathan, Head of SEO and Affiliates at Blibli, in a written statement on Tuesday.
“Blibli’s presence on YouTube Shopping is a strategic step for us to be present in that moment, ensuring every shopping inspiration can be realised immediately in a safe, transparent, and guaranteed authentic manner,” Jonathan added.
He explained that through YouTube Shopping, creators can embed up to 60 Blibli products in a single piece of content. This opens more opportunities for customers to discover various product recommendations simultaneously in a single viewing experience.
Additionally, there is a tracking system extending seven days from when a product is first clicked, providing flexibility for customers to complete purchases more easily.
Beyond making shopping easier for customers, the Ramadan period is also an opportunity for creators to produce content that is increasingly productive and beneficial.
The programme is open to YouTube creators with at least 1,000 subscribers. Creators simply need to ensure their account is registered in the YouTube Partner Programme, activate YouTube Shopping, then begin tagging Blibli products in their content.
The benefits offered include commissions up to double during specified periods. Additionally, the product tagging process is simpler—creators merely need to select relevant Blibli products and embed them in videos, Shorts, or live streams via the Shopping button.
