Sinar Mas and Kompas Gramedia have jointly provided 3,000 litres of premium packaged cooking oil at a subsidised price of Rp 15,000 per litre during the “Blessed Ramadan Market 2026” event held in Palmerah, Central Jakarta on Thursday, 13 March 2026.

The initiative was organised to help communities obtain essential goods at more affordable prices during Ramadan.

Agustian Partawidjaja, Chairman of the Sinar Mas Muslim Foundation (YMSM), stated that the cooking oil offered at the bazaar is premium packaged oil rather than bulk oil. “Whilst market prices are around Rp 22,000 per litre, at this bazaar communities can purchase Filma cooking oil for Rp 15,000 per litre,” Agustian told Kompas.com on Friday, 13 March 2026.

Agustian explained that the paper used to print the Quran manuscripts is produced by Sinar Mas through its pulp and paper business unit. “However, the Quran manuscripts are printed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.

He added that Quran manuscripts commonly received by pilgrims after completing the hajj or umrah pilgrimage also use paper produced by Sinar Mas in Indonesia.

The cooking oil sold at this event is a product of Sinar Mas Agribusiness & Food.

The donated Quran manuscripts are printed on specialised paper developed by the APP Group. This paper has been specifically designed for printing holy scriptures and religious books.

Since 2005, the Blessed Ramadan Market programme, implemented through various corporate business units, has distributed over 30 million litres of packaged cooking oil to communities across various regions.

Yosef Adityo, Corporate Strategy and Technology Director of Kompas Gramedia, stated that the event represents the second collaboration between Kompas Gramedia and Sinar Mas. According to him, the previous similar cooperation had been conducted and received positive responses from the community.

“Today’s programme is the second collaboration between Sinar Mas and Kompas Gramedia. Last year’s similar activity was very successful,” Yosef said. “Whilst last year’s cooking oil was sold in one-litre packaging, this year two-litre packaging is available. This is certainly worth appreciating,” he added.

Besides cooking oil, the bazaar also provided various other essentials, including fresh meat, tissue, sausages, nuggets, packaged drinking water (AMDK) Pristine, and assorted dried cakes in preparation for Eid.

Yosef hoped that the event would help communities prepare for the needs ahead of Eid whilst strengthening unity during Ramadan.
