Blast razes six homes in Palmerah

JAKARTA: A gas explosion at a tofu home factory on Jl. Palmerah Barat in West Jakarta caused a blaze that razed six houses at about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.

No fatalities were reported in the accident.

According to a West Jakarta fire agency official, Imron, 16 fire trucks were deployed to deal with the blaze. The fire was extinguished by 3 a.m.

A resident told news radio Sonora a similar incident occurred in the densely packed neighborhood in 2002. -- JP
