Although a concert featuring Alicia Keys, scheduled for Oct. 5,
has already been canceled on security concerns, other acts due to
appear soon will be going ahead.
Tommy Pratama of Original Production confirmed on Tuesday that
The Scorpions would perform at Senayan Indoor Tennis Stadium on
Thursday.
"They have just arrived. People need not worry that they won't
perform," Tommy told The Jakarta Post
He said many "festival" tickets, starting at Rp 200,000 could
be bought at the stadium at the last minute but VIP tickets were
almost sold out.
Meanwhile, the Best of Blue concert would still be staged at
Istora Gelora Bung Karno on Sept. 23, the concert's organizer
Java Musikindo said in a statement on Tuesday.
The concert will feature Blue from the UK, and also present
Indonesian Idol, Delon, and Derek MacDonald as the opening acts.
A concert of classical music, featuring the Jakarta
Philharmonic Orchestra at 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Balai
Sarbini, The Plaza Semanggi, Central Jakarta, will also go ahead
as planned.
Australian solo violinist Jonathan Glonek, who will be playing
Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, has not been deterred by last
week's events. The concerto will also feature music by Rossini
and Rimsky-Korsakov.
