Blast has mixed impact on concert

Although a concert featuring Alicia Keys, scheduled for Oct. 5, has already been canceled on security concerns, other acts due to appear soon will be going ahead.

Tommy Pratama of Original Production confirmed on Tuesday that The Scorpions would perform at Senayan Indoor Tennis Stadium on Thursday.

"They have just arrived. People need not worry that they won't perform," Tommy told The Jakarta Post

He said many "festival" tickets, starting at Rp 200,000 could be bought at the stadium at the last minute but VIP tickets were almost sold out.

Meanwhile, the Best of Blue concert would still be staged at Istora Gelora Bung Karno on Sept. 23, the concert's organizer Java Musikindo said in a statement on Tuesday.

The concert will feature Blue from the UK, and also present Indonesian Idol, Delon, and Derek MacDonald as the opening acts.

A concert of classical music, featuring the Jakarta Philharmonic Orchestra at 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Balai Sarbini, The Plaza Semanggi, Central Jakarta, will also go ahead as planned.

Australian solo violinist Jonathan Glonek, who will be playing Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, has not been deterred by last week's events. The concerto will also feature music by Rossini and Rimsky-Korsakov.
