Blacking out schools 'unwise'

AMBON, Maluku: Ambon municipal council speaker lashed out at electricity company PLN on Wednesday for cutting power supply to 27 schools.

Council speaker Lucky Wattimury said the council understood that the schools had not paid their bills, but advised the company to act wisely.

"Electricity is needed by schools for student activities, and the final exams are approaching. They need electricity. Without it, they can't operate," Lucky told The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.
