BKPRMI: Implementation of PP Tunas Must Be Accompanied by Strengthening of Morals
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Central Board of the Indonesian Mosque Youth and Adolescents Communication Agency (DPP BKPRMI) assesses that the implementation of Government Regulation Number 17/2025 on the Protection of Electronic System Governance in Child Protection (PP Tunas) must be accompanied by strengthening children’s morals.
“BKPRMI asserts that the main problem in the digital space is not just technology, but a crisis of values and morals. Without strengthening morals, regulations will only become a fence that is easily jumped over,” said the General Chairman of DPP BKPRMI, Nanang Mubarok, when contacted in Jakarta on Saturday.
According to him, the implementation of PP Tunas must be accompanied by concrete steps, such as strengthening character education, revitalising the role of the family, and optimising the function of mosques as centres for nurturing the younger generation.
Furthermore, BKPRMI views that character strengthening can be carried out through synergy between families, educational institutions, and religious organisations. The organisation also considers the importance of the family’s role as the first environment in shaping children’s behaviour, including supervising technology use in the digital era.
In BKPRMI’s view, PP Tunas is a strategic initial step in creating a safer digital space for children, but it cannot stand alone without support from values and morals.
BKPRMI also invites all elements of society to make the momentum of PP Tunas a collective effort in building a generation that is not only technologically capable but also integrous and moral towards Indonesia’s Golden Vision 2045.
PP Tunas will be effective from 28 March 2026, and every digital-operating business entity is required to comply with the provisions of the regulation.
