BKPM Strengthens OSS Services to Accelerate Investment Licensing
The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming is reinforcing its Online Single Submission (OSS) platform as part of a broader strategy to accelerate investment licensing and support the government’s economic growth target of 8%. Deputy Minister for Investment and Downstreaming, Todotua Pasaribu, outlined the progress and achievements in investment and downstreaming aimed at reaching IDR 13,000 trillion in realised investment within the five-year administration of Prabowo-Gibran.
The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) noted that in 2026, investment contributed 29% to national economic growth. Consequently, BKPM continues to drive efforts to increase investment realisation by fostering a favourable investment climate, improving licensing services, and promoting downstream industries in the mineral and coal, plantation and forestry, oil and gas, fisheries and marine sectors, as well as new and renewable energy (EBT) businesses.
On the other hand, Indonesia’s push to attract investment faces challenges related to the country’s Incremental Capital Output Ratio (ICOR) score, which remains high at around 6.3 to 6.5. This figure is linked to Indonesia’s efficiency levels, which are still not as favourable as those of regional peers in ASEAN such as Vietnam. To attract investment and drive downstream projects, the Ministry of Investment is implementing several strategies, including simplifying licensing through the OSS platform.
