BKPM Reveals Investment and Downstreaming Achievements Towards 8% Economic Growth
Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, who also serves as Deputy Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Todotua Pasaribu, has detailed the progress and achievements of investment and downstreaming targets. These efforts are directed towards achieving economic growth of 8% and realising investments worth IDR 13,000 trillion over the five-year administration of Prabowo-Gibran. BKPM noted that in 2026, investment contributed 29% to national economic growth. Consequently, BKPM remains committed to boosting investment realisation by fostering a conducive investment climate, improving licensing services, and promoting downstream industries in the mineral and coal, plantation and forestry, oil and gas, as well as fisheries, marine, and new renewable energy sectors. Despite this, Indonesia faces challenges related to a high Incremental Capital Output Ratio (ICOR) score, which remains in the range of 6.3-6.5, indicating less efficiency compared to other ASEAN countries such as Vietnam. To attract investment and support downstream projects, the Ministry of Investment has implemented several strategies, including licensing facilitation through the Online Single Submission (OSS) platform.
