BKPM Requests Police Action Against Kadin Official Who Demanded Rp5 Trillion Share in Cilegon

JAKARTA — The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM has called on law enforcement to take action against a Cilegon Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) official alleged to have demanded a project share from investor PT Chandra Asri Alkali (CAA).

Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Todotua Pasaribu confirmed that the case has been fully handed over to the local police.

"We deeply regret the incident that occurred, and we have referred the matter to law enforcement, in this case the Banten Provincial Police, who will carry out the investigation process," Todotua said in Jakarta on Thursday (15/5/2025).

Todotua stressed the importance of maintaining a conducive investment climate to drive national economic growth. The Deputy Minister said he would not tolerate parties who disrupt the course of investment, in pursuit of achieving 8 per cent economic growth.
