BKPM Proposes Rp578 Billion Budget Increase to Boost 2027 Investment

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani has proposed an additional budget of Rp578.93 billion for 2027 to support the achievement of the national investment target, which has been raised by 13.8 per cent for next year.

During a meeting with House of Representatives (DPR) Commission XII in Jakarta on Monday, Rosan explained that his ministry is tasked with realising combined foreign direct investment (PMA) and domestic direct investment (PMDN) of Rp2,322 trillion in 2027. This target represents a 13.8 per cent increase compared to the 2026 target of Rp2,041.3 trillion.

To support the achievement of this target, the ministry has proposed a total budget requirement of Rp2.19 trillion. However, the indicative ceiling received for the 2027 fiscal year stands at Rp625.14 billion, a decline of 37.6 per cent compared to the 2026 budget allocation.

According to Rosan, this indicative ceiling does not meet the ministry’s minimum operational requirement of Rp1.2 trillion. He therefore expressed hope for legislative support to approve the additional Rp578.93 billion, bringing the ministry’s total budget to the minimum required level.

“In this regard, we hope for the support and consideration of the leadership and esteemed members of Commission XII so that the additional budget of Rp578.93 billion, in line with the minimum budget requirement of the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM for 2027, can be fulfilled at Rp1.2 trillion,” Rosan stated.

He detailed that the minimum budget requirement consists of Rp579.95 billion for management support programmes and Rp624.12 billion for investment and downstreaming programmes.
