BKPM Chief Visits KPK to Discuss One-Stop Investment Licensing Service
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Franky Sibarani visited the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) building on Tuesday, 6 January 2015. Franky said his visit was to discuss three matters. "To consult regarding the One-Stop Integrated Service," Franky said at the KPK building on Tuesday, 6 January 2015.
In addition, Franky, who met with two KPK Deputy Chairmen, Zulkarnain and Adnan Pandu Praja, also intended to report his assets and wealth.
According to him, the KPK and BKPM will work in synergy to ensure the investment licensing process within the country. Going forward, the anti-corruption commission and BKPM will sign a memorandum of understanding on this matter.
He also expressed his desire to KPK leaders to establish a gratification control unit. The aim is to provide assurance to investors and licensing applicants that they need not offer gratuities.
Franky said he is preparing a complaints mechanism set out in BKPM regulations.
Previously, each ministry and institution was asked to develop standard operating procedures for cooperation to avoid any imbalance of authority when the One-Stop Integrated Service (PTSP) system is implemented at the end of January. Under the new system, the licensing process will become more efficient and prospective investors will no longer need to visit each ministry individually.
