BKPM Chief: 2025 Investment Realisation Reaches Rp1,931.2 Trillion, Exceeding Target
Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani announced that investment realisation in 2025 reached Rp1,931.2 trillion, exceeding the target of Rp1,905.6 trillion and growing 12.7 per cent compared to the previous year. This achievement absorbed 2.71 million Indonesian workers, a 10.4 per cent year-on-year increase. βAll of these achievements were attained while maintaining accountable and transparent management of state finances and assets,β Rosan stated during a working meeting with Commission XII of the House of Representatives in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Domestic direct investment (PMDN) accounted for 53.4 per cent of the total, or Rp1,030.3 trillion, while foreign direct investment (PMA) contributed 46.6 per cent, or Rp900.9 trillion. Investment outside Java reached 51.3 per cent of the total, amounting to Rp991.2 trillion, surpassing the Rp940 trillion invested in Java. The top five locations for investment realisation were West Java (Rp296.8 trillion), Jakarta (Rp270.9 trillion), East Java (Rp145.1 trillion), Banten (Rp130.2 trillion), and Central Sulawesi (Rp127.2 trillion).
The leading sub-sectors for investment were the base metal, metal goods, non-machinery and equipment industry (Rp262 trillion); transportation, warehousing, and telecommunications (Rp211 trillion); mining (Rp199.6 trillion); other services (Rp170.5 trillion); and housing, industrial estates, and offices (Rp140.4 trillion). Rosan emphasised that downstream processing was a key driver, with downstream investment realisation reaching Rp584.1 trillion, a 43.3 per cent increase, contributing 30.2 per cent to the national total. Of this, 71.1 per cent was located outside Java, reflecting efforts to create domestic added value and promote equitable development.
Mineral downstreaming accounted for Rp373.1 trillion, with nickel commodities at Rp185.2 trillion, copper at Rp65.8 trillion, bauxite at Rp53.1 trillion, iron and steel at Rp39.2 trillion, tin at Rp11.3 trillion, and other commodities including silica sand, gold, silver, cobalt, manganese, and coal at Rp18.5 trillion. Plantation and forestry downstreaming totalled Rp144.5 trillion, comprising palm oil (Rp62.8 trillion), timber (Rp62.2 trillion), rubber (Rp12.9 trillion), and others such as nutmeg, pine, coconut, cocoa, and biofuel (Rp6.6 trillion). Oil and gas downstreaming reached Rp60 trillion, with crude oil at Rp41.7 trillion and natural gas at Rp18.3 trillion. Fisheries and marine downstreaming amounted to Rp6.4 trillion, covering salt, tuna, skipjack, mackerel, shrimp, seaweed, crab, and tilapia. The top five regions for downstream investment were Central Sulawesi (Rp110 trillion), North Maluku (Rp74.8 trillion), West Java (Rp71.4 trillion), Banten (Rp41.3 trillion), and East Java (Rp36.7 trillion).
