BKN: Situbondo Regency Government Will Advance Quickly When Able to Manage Risk Management
The local government must also be able to manage reputational risk, which relates to the optimisation of public services. Situbondo (ANTARA) - The Head of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN), Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, stated that the Situbondo Regency Government, East Java, will succeed quickly in “advancing” when it is able to manage risk management. “Because we often forget that the local government can succeed quickly when minimising risks,” said Zudan during the seminar titled “Strengthening Talent Management in Realising Advanced Situbondo Civil Servants” at the Situbondo Regency Pendopo, East Java, on Friday. In front of hundreds of civil servants (ASN) in the Situbondo Regency Government, he conveyed that the local government must be able to manage four types of risk management, namely liquidity risk, operational risk, reputational risk, and legal risk. Zudan explained that the Situbondo Regency Government must be able to manage liquidity risk or the inability to meet its obligations, which impacts the regional financial condition. “For example, the electricity should not go out in each regional device organisation or OPD that will carry out work-from-home (WFH) activities,” said Zudan. According to him, the local government must also be able to manage reputational risk, which relates to the optimisation of public services. “For instance, in public services at the Population and Civil Registration Service, electronic ID card blanks should not run out and must always be available, because when the blanks run out, the public judges the service as poor, thus the reputation of public services is poor,” said Zudan. “Next is legal risk, for example, when unable to manage risk management such as defaulting on payments, it can be sued, therefore there must be proper goals and methods (in managing regional finances). In government, there are already rules and procedures, they exist and have been made, so if this is maintained, Situbondo will advance,” he added.
