BKN Head Provides Latest Update on 2026 Civil Servant Recruitment

The Head of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN), Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, has provided the latest update regarding the opening of the 2026 Civil Servant Candidate (CPNS) selection. He stated that the government is currently finalising coordination with ministries, agencies, and regional governments to determine the required number of positions.

“We are currently finalising coordination for the CPNS selection. I, the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, and the Minister of Finance are continuing to coordinate with regional governments and ministries/agencies. We are calculating the exact number of positions needed,” Zudan told reporters at the Ministry of Home Affairs office in Central Jakarta on Monday, 13 July 2026.

Zudan explained that discussions regarding the 2026 CPNS selection are still ongoing with the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform. The official announcement regarding the implementation of the selection will be made by the Minister once all discussions are complete. “We are currently finalising this with the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform; she will make the announcement later. We are continuing to coordinate so that we can implement it soon,” he said.

Zudan also noted that the government is currently in the process of recruiting Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) for people’s schools. “Yesterday, we completed the recruitment for people’s schools. This is currently in progress, the PPPK recruitment for people’s schools is ongoing,” he explained.

Previously, the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) signalled that the government plans to open approximately 160,000 CPNS positions in 2026. Minister of PANRB Rini Widyantini stated that her ministry has written to the Minister of Finance to request the necessary budget calculations to support the CPNS test. “We already have the data, around 160,000. We have written to the Minister of Finance to calculate the budget immediately,” Rini said. However, she could not yet confirm the exact date the 2026 CPNS selection will commence.
