BKKBN Targets 1,369 Acceptors in Aceh Besar
Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) has launched a simultaneous family planning service programme with a target of 1,369 acceptors in Aceh Besar Regency.
Safrina Salim, Head of the BKKBN Aceh Representation, stated in Banda Aceh on Friday that the simultaneous family service programme aims to curb population growth and improve family quality.
She mentioned that the simultaneous family service programme runs from 29 April to 22 May 2026. The programme is part of the Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI) Service Month.
“This IBI Service Month focuses on increasing family planning participation, particularly long-term contraception methods, reducing the unmet need rate (unmet family planning needs), and recruiting new acceptors,” she said.
Safrina Salim appreciated the role of midwives as the frontline in family planning services and reproductive health for the community, especially productive married women.
“Midwives are the spearhead in providing family planning services to the community, particularly to curb population growth,” said Safrina Salim.
She invited cross-sectoral involvement to support and ensure the success of the simultaneous family planning service programme. This cross-sectoral synergy is expected to strengthen access to family planning services down to the village level.
“The BKKBN Aceh Representation continues to strive to expand access to family planning services for the community with the aim of curbing population growth and improving family quality,” said Safrina Salim.
