BKKBN Central Java: MBG 3B Programme Distributed to 625,113 Beneficiaries

Semarang (ANTARA) - The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) Central Java stated that the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme for the 3B group in the region has currently been distributed to 625,113 beneficiaries.

Head of the BKKBN Central Java Representation, Rusman Effendi, in Semarang on Wednesday, said that the MBG programme not only targets schoolchildren but also pregnant women (bumil), breastfeeding mothers (busui), and toddlers (non-PAUD) or the 3B group.

“This is the only national programme that has targeted the 3B group in Indonesia,” he said during the Technical Coordination Meeting for the Bangga Kencana Programme in Central Java Province.

He explained that the MBG 3B programme is an MBG initiative from the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) as a step for stunting intervention in the first 1,000 days of life (HPK).

Currently, the beneficiaries of the MBG 3B programme in Central Java who have been distributed consist of 60,915 pregnant women, 150,490 breastfeeding mothers, and 413,708 toddlers (non-PAUD).

The potential target for MBG 3B programme beneficiaries in Central Java is currently 788,920 people, so the coverage of distributed targets reaches 79.24 percent.

According to him, out of all nutrition fulfilment service units (SPPG) in Central Java, numbering 4,000 units, only 43.61 percent serve the 3B target, namely 1,745 SPPG.

“This indeed still requires support from all parties so that all SPG kitchens will also implement for the 3B target,” he said.

Unlike the schoolchildren target, MBG 3B is distributed by SPPG to certain points, for example, integrated service posts (posyandu), and the distribution is continued by cadres to the beneficiaries.

Posyandu activities are indeed carried out once a month, but the distribution of MBG 3B is still carried out at the posyandu location points every day, including at other distribution points guarded by cadres.
