PT Astra International Tbk (Astra) is working with the Ministry of Population and Family Development/BKKBN to improve maternal and child health in Gedepangrango village, Sukabumi regency, West Java. The initiative aims to strengthen stunting prevention through the Astra Prosperous Village programme.

The collaboration supports the Foster Parents’ Movement to Prevent Stunting (Genting), particularly through the Family Nutrition Companion Cadre programme, which involves village-level health volunteers.

Astra Executive in Charge Boy Gemino Kalauserang said the Astra Prosperous Village programme was intended not only to develop the local economy but also to improve residents’ quality of life.

“The Astra Prosperous Village programme contributes not only to developing villages’ economic potential, but also provides a way for Astra to support improvements in people’s quality of life. We hope collaboration with the government, communities and families can continue to be strengthened so that the programme’s benefits can be sustained,” Boy said in a statement on Monday (12 October 2026).

Deputy Minister of Population and Family Development/BKKBN Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka visited the Astra Prosperous Village in Gedepangrango on Friday (9 October 2026) to observe the stunting-prevention programme supported by Astra.

Isyana praised Astra’s participation as a foster parent in the Genting programme. She said collaboration between the government and businesses was an important way to accelerate the reduction of stunting in Indonesia.

“We are optimistic that stunting rates can continue to be brought down. We are pursuing various collaborations, including with Astra today. We hope more companies will take part in stunting-prevention efforts in the future,” Isyana said.

Isyana was accompanied on the visit by Astra Head of Environment & Social Responsibility Diah Suran Febrianti and Gedepangrango Astra Prosperous Village community organiser Ending Khoerudin.

The delegation reviewed several community health initiatives, including nutrition assistance for children under five and pregnant women, improvements to Posyandu community health services, and support for families from health volunteers.

Astra is also supporting nutritional assistance for families at risk of stunting, in the form of ready-to-eat meals and food ingredients recommended by the Ministry of Health during the first 1,000 days of life.
