BKI Expands Cooperation to Regional and Global Maritime Industry at Asia Pacific Maritime
PT Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (Persero) or BKI, the parent holding of state-owned enterprise survey services known as IDSurvey, has reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing involvement in the development of the global maritime industry and to expanding Indonesia’s role in the international maritime ecosystem.
BKI’s President Director, R. Benny Susanto, stated that this is evidenced, among other things, by BKI’s presence at the Asia Pacific Maritime (APM) 2026 exhibition and conference, which took place in Singapore at the end of March 2026.
“The purpose of BKI’s participation in this event is to expand networks of cooperation with regional and global maritime industry players, while also introducing the company’s role and capabilities at the international level,” said Benny in his statement on Tuesday, 14 April 2026.
Benny, who attended the event, was accompanied by Vice President (VP) of Classification Business Operations, Munir M, as well as the BKI delegation. He emphasised that this participation provides an opportunity for BKI to interact directly with various industry stakeholders, including shipping business operators, the offshore sector, and marine technology developers.
Benny added that the Asia Pacific Maritime is one of the leading maritime forums in the Asia region, bringing together industry players from various countries.
“This exhibition and conference discusses developments in the shipbuilding industry, workboats, the offshore sector, and maritime technology, including the development of electric and hybrid-based marine systems,” he said.
As part of the activities, the BKI delegation also visited several exhibition booths. Among them were those of the Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA) and the Indonesian Shipbuilding and Offshore Facilities Industry Association (IPERINDO), which represent Indonesia in the forum.
“This visit is part of efforts to strengthen synergy among national industry players at the international level,” said Benny.
On that occasion, BKI also paid a visit to the office of the Weichai Group. The Weichai Group is a global company engaged in engine production, including marine engines. This visit is part of efforts to open opportunities for information exchange and to explore cooperation that supports the development of the maritime industry.
“Through participation in the Asia Pacific Maritime 2026, BKI demonstrates its commitment to continued involvement in the development of the global maritime industry and to expanding Indonesia’s role in the international maritime ecosystem,” he said.
