The Jakarta Corruption Court has sentenced Hendarto, a director and beneficial owner of several companies within the Bara Jaya Utama (BJU) group, to eight years in prison for his role in a corruption case involving the receipt of credit facilities from the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI). The verdict was delivered on Monday, 22 June 2026. In addition to the prison sentence, the panel of judges imposed a fine of Rp500 million, with a subsidiary of 140 days in confinement, and ordered Hendarto to pay restitution amounting to Rp1.06 trillion and 49.88 million US dollars.
