Biznet Strengthens East Java Connectivity Through Digital Infrastructure
Biznet continues to strengthen its role in developing digital infrastructure in East Java to promote increasingly integrated inter-regional connectivity. This effort is an important part of supporting the acceleration of digital transformation amid the growing public need for fast, stable, and equitable internet access.
This connectivity enhancement is realised through strategic steps such as expanding the network to more areas and increasing service capacity. One key milestone is the operation of the underwater fibre optic cable network connecting major cities on Java Island, such as Jakarta, Cirebon, Semarang, and Surabaya. This infrastructure strengthens bandwidth distribution between regions while improving the reliability of digital services on Java Island, particularly East Java as one of the centres of economic growth.
President Director of Biznet, Adi Kusma, emphasised that strengthening digital infrastructure is the main foundation in supporting the growth of the national digital ecosystem. “Biznet’s efforts in strengthening its service infrastructure certainly align with the continuous growth of digitalisation, plus the increasing internet penetration in Indonesia year by year. And amid the current conditions that require us to optimise efficiency, we see this digital acceleration as a necessity so that various operational processes can continue to run optimally,” he said.
He added, “Therefore, Biznet comes with infrastructure that is ready as an answer to face the current conditions, to support WFH activities remaining smooth and productive, updates on information not being left behind, to how our services can continue to support creativity and economic growth in the current digital era.” By January 2026, Biznet will also increase bandwidth capacity by 30% to reach 500 Mbps, and in some areas accompanied by price adjustments to make it more affordable.
This connectivity enhancement is also integrated with the development of the Biznet Nusantara Cable System-2 (BNCS-2), which will connect Java Island with Bali, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi. This project reinforces the position of East Java, particularly Surabaya, as a strategic node in the national connectivity network. “With the construction of BNCS-2 which also passes through East Java, we see Surabaya has the potential to become a connectivity centre connecting islands in Indonesia,” Adi stated.
Furthermore, he added that the presence of the Biznet Technocenter Surabaya, which has been inaugurated since 2023, strengthens the role of this city as a data and connectivity centre in East Java. With support from more than 200,000 homepasses spread across 118 sub-districts and 13 branch offices in Greater Surabaya covering Surabaya, Sidoarjo, and Gresik, Biznet ensures services are closer and more responsive to customer needs.
In addition, Biznet is running a social responsibility programme by providing free internet access to communities around Gresik. “Since the beginning of our journey as an internet service provider, we have had great hopes that communities throughout Indonesia can continue to develop by utilising internet technology. Therefore, we provide opportunities for communities around the Biznet MarinePOP to get free internet access to connect more with the world’s information,” Adi explained.
As it strengthens this connectivity foundation, Biznet is bringing back the youth festival titled Biznet Festival Surabaya 2026 as a form of approach to the community and appreciation to customers. Not only that, the event held at Plaza Surabaya is a manifestation of support for the digital lifestyle of the community through collaborations in music, creativity, and digital technology, on Saturday, 11 April 2026.
This step is also part of Biznet’s strategy to bring services closer to the Surabaya community. Biznet Festival Surabaya 2026 not only presents entertainment but also serves as a platform for the younger generation to showcase talents and express creative ideas through various competitions such as bands, Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA), and push bike. The event was enlivened by The Changcuters and Mr. Jono Joni, and open to the public for free with registration via the official website.
“The Biznet Festival itself is one way for us to bring technology closer to the community, where the community can directly experience how Biznet’s digital infrastructure is present in their daily lives, from social media updates to enjoying music and more enjoyable entertainment in the current digital era,” said Adi.
As additional appreciation to customers, Biznet is also presenting the Biznet Prize Vaganza programme which provides opportunities to win grand prizes of gold from 10 to 100 grams that will be drawn in June and December 2026. In addition, there are various attractive monthly prizes such as iPad, Apple Watch, and PS5.
Not stopping there, Biznet is also introducing innovations through the MyBiznet application equipped with a Spin Wheel feature. On the 1st, 11th, and 21st of each month, customers have the chance to get bonus bandwidth up to 250 Mbps for seven days. This application also serves as an integrated solution for customers, from active period notifications, service package changes, add-on purchases, to complaint services and customer care via toll-free telephone or live chat.
“In this way, what we are striving for aligns with the campaign we are running, we hope customers can feel calm, happy, and winning when connected with the best internet from Biznet,” Adi concluded.
