Bitung Immigration Secures Two Chinese Nationals in Connection with Residence Permits
Manado (ANTARA) - The Class II TPI Bitung Immigration Office in North Sulawesi has secured two foreign nationals from China, initials PL and LA, in Operation Wirawaspada over suspicions of violating residence permits. “Operation Wirawaspada is part of the Directorate General of Immigration’s strategy to ensure compliance by foreign nationals (WNA) with applicable legal provisions, while maintaining stability in security and public order in Indonesian territory, particularly in the Bitung Immigration Office’s working area,” said the Head of the North Sulawesi Immigration Region Office, Ramdhani, in Bitung on Monday. During Operation Wirawaspada, the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Team (Inteldakim) conducted surveillance and direct inspections of several companies predetermined based on immigration intelligence analysis results, he said. “The inspections focused on the presence, activities, and completeness of immigration documents held by WNA,” he stated. After being secured at the location, the two WNA were brought to the Class II TPI Bitung Immigration Office for further examination, said Ramdhani. The examination process is conducted thoroughly to investigate the alleged immigration violations, while upholding principles of professionalism, accountability, and respect for human rights. “Operation Wirawaspada is a form of preventive and repressive efforts in immigration law enforcement, carried out in a coordinated manner under central control,” said Ramdhani. The Class II TPI Bitung Immigration Office will continue to monitor foreigners to create a safe, orderly, and conducive situation, as well as prevent the misuse of residence permits by WNA in Indonesian territory, he added.
