Bittime launches crypto futures trading service after CFX-OJK approval
Digital Financial Asset Trader (PAKD) Bittime has launched a digital financial asset derivatives trading service (crypto futures), after obtaining a licence issued by PT Central Finansial X (CFX) under the supervisory era of the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Bittime Operational Director Ryan Lymn said the launch is the company’s strategy to expand investment service options, while answering the needs of Indonesian traders for a regulated futures platform. “We want to present a futures platform alternative that is safe, compliant with regulations, and competitive. With the presence of Spot, Staking, and Futures in one platform, Bittime provides more ways for the Indonesian public to invest in the crypto asset market,” Ryan said in an official statement in Jakarta on Tuesday. In the initial stage, Bittime Futures presents 49 popular crypto asset trading pairs, where users can open long or short positions, use leverage of up to 25x, and choose Cross Margin or Isolated Margin according to their respective risk management strategies and preferences. “All users are required to take a knowledge test before they can access the futures feature,” Ryan said. Ryan continued that Bittime provides various educational materials so that users understand the characteristics and risks of digital financial asset derivatives trading before starting transactions. “With the number of digital financial asset consumers reaching 22.4 million, we see that the need for digital investment options will continue to grow. Therefore, Bittime will continue to present innovations built on a foundation of compliance, education, and consumer protection so that more people can invest with confidence,” Ryan said. CFX Director Lukas Lauw explained that the launch of digital financial asset derivatives trading is a strategic step in efforts to deepen the market and expand industry use cases in Indonesia. He assured that CFX will continue to encourage the presence of product innovations that mature the ecosystem, while remaining within the corridor of applicable supervision and regulation. “We welcome the innovative steps from exchange members, and hope that the launch of derivatives services by Bittime can increase domestic derivatives adoption, of course while still making governance, market integrity, and consumer protection the main priorities,” Lukas said. Through POJK Number 23 of 2025, OJK expanded the scope of digital financial asset trading by including digital financial asset derivatives as part of the officially regulated ecosystem, while strengthening governance, risk management, and consumer protection. This commitment is also reinforced through the preparation of the Financial Sector Technology Innovation, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets (IAKD) Roadmap 2026–2031. As of July 2026, OJK has granted licences to 26 Digital Financial Asset Traders (PAKD), with the number of digital financial asset and crypto asset consumers reaching 22.4 million.
