Bittime: Crypto Investors Remain in Wait-and-See Mode, Bitcoin Moves in Narrow Range

Bitcoin’s price movement remains limited after the US Federal Reserve maintained its benchmark interest rate in the 3.50–3.75 per cent range. Uncertainty surrounding the discussion of the CLARITY Act in the United States is also prompting market participants to hold back on transactions and focus on highly liquid assets. Ryan Lymn, Operational Director of Bittime, stated that the combination of US monetary policy and the lack of regulatory certainty for digital assets is making investors more cautious in managing their portfolios. According to data from CoinMarketCap on Wednesday (5/8), Bitcoin strengthened by 0.99 per cent in 24 hours and rose 1.04 per cent over the week, trading around 64,000 US dollars. However, this increase is not considered to reflect a significant shift in market sentiment. Ryan noted that investors are currently prioritising risk management over pursuing short-term profit opportunities. ‘Market participants are still waiting for certainty from various global factors, including the direction of interest rate policy and the development of digital asset regulations in the United States. In these conditions, investors generally prioritise risk management and choose assets with strong liquidity,’ Ryan said on Wednesday (5/8/2026). Internal data from Bittime shows that trading activity has once again concentrated on USDT, Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL). According to Ryan, this condition reflects the tendency of investors to choose more liquid assets amidst global market uncertainty. Beyond the Fed’s decision, the market is also awaiting progress on the CLARITY Act discussions in the United States. Based on a JPMorgan study, the delay in discussing this regulation remains a factor limiting positive sentiment in the market as investors await legal certainty for the digital asset industry. Amidst global uncertainty, Ryan assessed that the development of digital asset regulations in Indonesia is actually providing a more positive outlook. One such development is the drafting of the 2026–2031 Roadmap for Innovation in Financial Sector Technology, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets (IAKD) by the Financial Services Authority (OJK). This roadmap will guide the development of the national digital asset industry, covering aspects from asset tokenisation and stablecoins to strengthening cybersecurity, over-the-counter (OTC) transactions, and the development of a Single Investor Identifier (SID). ‘We see the strengthening of regulations in Indonesia as an important foundation for the long-term growth of the digital asset industry. Regulatory certainty will encourage innovation while increasing investor confidence in the national digital asset ecosystem,’ Ryan stated. To boost new investor participation, Bittime is running a promotional programme from 3 to 31 August 2026. Users who have completed account verification (KYC), registered for the programme, and met the applicable terms have the opportunity to receive a Bitcoin bonus of up to Rp1.5 million based on their first transaction volume. Ryan hopes this programme can serve as an entry point for the public to gradually learn about digital asset investment through a licensed platform supervised by the OJK. ‘The current market momentum is an opportunity for the public to start getting to know digital asset investment gradually. Through this BTC bonus programme for first-time investments, new users can begin exploring the Bittime investment ecosystem, including Spot, Staking, and Futures, as well as access to global assets like Tokenized US Stocks, according to their respective risk profiles,’ Ryan said.
