Jakarta (ANTARA) - The price of Bitcoin (BTC) has again touched 65,500 US dollars, its highest level in about five weeks, followed by major crypto assets such as Ethereum (ETH) which traded around 1,880 US dollars. Indodax Chief Marketing Officer Aloysia Dian said this movement reflects improving sentiment in the crypto asset market, supported by a combination of optimism regarding regulatory developments, sustained institutional investor interest, and market attention to several global economic agendas. “This market movement shows the increasing maturity of the crypto asset industry, where price formation is increasingly influenced by various fundamental factors, ranging from economic policy, regulatory developments, to institutional investor participation,” she said in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday. The strengthening, she continued, is not only seen in Bitcoin but is also followed by a number of large-cap crypto assets, indicating that positive sentiment is beginning to be felt by the market more broadly. “However, investors still need to pay close attention to various fundamental factors that could affect market volatility going forward,” she said. Aloysia explained that one factor building market optimism is the increasingly clear direction of crypto asset regulatory discussions in the United States. Regulatory certainty from a country with a large financial market like the US is considered capable of increasing market participants’ confidence, providing legal certainty for the crypto asset industry, and encouraging institutional investor participation in the long term. In recent days, discussions on the CLARITY Act have shown positive developments after the regulatory ethics framework was approved. This has become one of the sentiments watched by the market as it provides hope for the creation of a clearer and more structured digital asset ecosystem. On the other hand, institutional investor interest in Bitcoin also continues to show a positive trend. Based on data from SoSoValue, spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States again recorded net inflows over two trading days on 20-21 July, totalling approximately 430 million US dollars. Although not the only factor affecting prices, these fund flows serve as an indicator that demand for Bitcoin exposure remains sustained. In addition, market participants are also awaiting several upcoming economic agendas. One of them is the Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision, as well as the financial reporting season for major technology companies in the United States, such as Alphabet, Tesla, and Intel. The performance of these issuers is expected to influence sentiment towards risk assets, including crypto assets, considering that Bitcoin’s movement has recently tended to correlate with technology sector stocks. This condition, according to her, shows that the crypto asset market is now increasingly integrated with global financial market dynamics. Aloysia reminded investors to view every development comprehensively and not just focus on short-term price movements. “In current market conditions, investors need to understand that crypto asset movements are influenced by many interrelated factors. Therefore, it is important to continue prioritising the principle of Do Your Own Research (DYOR), understand the risk profile of each asset, and invest according to long-term financial goals,” she said. As a regulated crypto exchange in Indonesia, Indodax continues to be committed to presenting a safe, transparent, and responsible digital asset investment ecosystem, while encouraging increased literacy so that the public can make wiser investment decisions.
