Bitcoin Price Plunges to 4-Month Low Amid US-Iran Conflict
The global crypto market is facing intense pressure this week. Bitcoin (BTC) is on track for its longest daily losing streak since last August, triggered by escalating conflict in the Middle East, massive liquidations of bullish positions, and a rare sell-off by a major corporate holder.
During trading on Thursday (4/6/2026), the leading cryptocurrency briefly slumped to US$61,322 (approximately Rp1 billion) before recovering slightly. This decline marks the fifth consecutive day bitcoin has been in the red, approaching the market’s lowest point recorded in early February.
Investor confidence in the digital asset sector has begun to waver due to a combination of simultaneous macro and technical factors.
This sharp decline also reinforces bitcoin’s decoupling from technology stocks on Wall Street, which have instead reached record highs. Bitcoin has currently lost about half its value since hitting an all-time high above US$126,000 in October of last year.
A similar condition has befallen ether (ETH). The second-largest token fell to its lowest level since April 2025, trading around US$1,780 (approximately Rp29.2 million) on Thursday morning.
The focus of the market is now on next Monday, when Strategy Inc. usually announces its bitcoin purchasing activities. Analysts predict the company may take more aggressive buying action to take advantage of the current low prices.
Although European equity markets are showing positive movement, bitcoin’s short-term future remains vulnerable to global macroeconomic risks and developments in the Middle East.
