Bitcoin ETF Records US$75.7 Million Inflow in Mid-July 2026, What Does It Signify?
Bitcoin spot Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) products in the United States have again recorded net inflows for two consecutive weeks. Based on SoSoValue data, Bitcoin ETFs booked a net inflow of US$75.7 million (approximately Rp1.36 trillion) during the trading period of 13–17 July 2026.
Chief Executive Officer of Indodax, William Sutanto, revealed that this achievement is one indication of recovering institutional investor sentiment towards Bitcoin after experiencing outflow pressure in the preceding months. ETFs are one of the instruments widely used by institutional investors to gain exposure to Bitcoin without having to own the crypto asset directly. Therefore, changes in ETF fund flows are often used as an indicator to gauge the direction of institutional investor sentiment.
“ETF fund flows not only reflect interest in Bitcoin, but also illustrate how institutional investors are beginning to increase their exposure to risky assets again after a prolonged period of uncertainty. However, this cannot yet be interpreted as a change in the overall market trend,” he stated.
SoSoValue data shows that during the 13–17 July 2026 trading period, Bitcoin ETFs initially recorded an outflow of US$424.7 million. However, the condition reversed with consistent inflows over the following four trading days, resulting in a cumulative net inflow of US$75.7 million for the week. This development marks a reversal of the trend after Bitcoin ETFs experienced outflow pressure for approximately two months.
William added that ETF fund flows can serve as an initial indicator of shifting institutional investor sentiment. Nevertheless, he reminded investors that the direction of the crypto market is still influenced by various other factors, such as inflation, central bank interest rate policies, global liquidity, and regulatory developments in various countries. Therefore, it is important to consider various indicators comprehensively before making investment decisions.
