Bank Indonesia (BI) has recorded positive performance in Indonesia’s digital financial transactions during the second quarter of 2026. According to BI data, the volume of digital payment transactions by Indonesian citizens reached 16.07 billion, growing 36.88% year-on-year (yoy), supported by the expansion of digital payment acceptance.

“Transaction volumes via internet and mobile applications grew by 16.88% (yoy) and 31.39% (yoy) respectively, including QRIS transactions which continued to grow strongly, reaching 100.12% (yoy) in the second quarter of 2026,” stated BI Governor Perry Warjiyo on Wednesday (22/7/2026).

According to Perry, the positive performance of QRIS was supported by an increase in the number of users and merchants. Meanwhile, from an infrastructure perspective, Perry revealed that the volume of retail transactions processed through BI-FAST reached 1,529 million transactions, growing 38.09% (yoy), with a transaction value of Rp3,777 trillion in the second quarter of 2026.

BI-FAST is Bank Indonesia’s national retail payment system infrastructure that enables real-time interbank transfers 24/7. This service offers more affordable transfer fees, capped at Rp2,500 per transaction, with a maximum limit of Rp250 million per transaction.

Meanwhile, the volume of large-value transactions processed through BI-RTGS was recorded at 2.63 million transactions, growing 13.03% (yoy), with the nominal value of BI-RTGS transactions growing 12.66% (yoy) to reach Rp53,492 trillion in the second quarter of 2026.
