BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCK TO PEACE:
Germany's Deputy Ambassador to Indonesia, Herman Sausen, releases
a white dove given to him by members of Aliansi Perempuan
Menggugat (Alliance for Women's Rights) as a symbol of peace.
The anti-war demonstrators rallied in their dozens outside the
German embassy in Jl. Thamrin on Monday to support Germany and
France in their rejection of U.S. plans to launch a war against
Iraq.
The U.S. is planning to invade Iraq for what it says is a
failure to comply with United Nations' demands to account for its
so-called weapons of mass destruction.
After the peace rally outside the German embassy, the group
continued their demonstration outside the French embassy, also in
Jl. Thamrin.
However, no French embassy officials came to meet them.
