Jakarta – Prices of a number of strategic food commodities remain at high levels based on the latest data from the National Strategic Food Price Information Centre (PIHPS), managed by Bank Indonesia. According to data released on Saturday, 20 June 2026 at 09.30 WIB, the price of red bird’s eye chilli was recorded as one of the commodities with the highest price at the national retail trader level. This commodity was traded at Rp76,300 per kilogram (kg). Meanwhile, the price of purebred chicken eggs is also still approaching the Rp30,000 per kg mark, or precisely at Rp29,950 per kg. Besides red bird’s eye chilli and purebred chicken eggs, a number of other staple goods also showed relatively high price movements in the national retail market. PIHPS recorded the price of shallots at Rp53,650 per kg, while garlic was sold at an average price of Rp41,100 per kg. For the chilli commodity group, besides red bird’s eye chilli, the price of large red chilli was recorded at Rp57,700 per kg, while curly red chilli was at Rp55,500 per kg. Green bird’s eye chilli was marketed at Rp54,950 per kg. The price of red bird’s eye chilli was the highest compared to other chilli types recorded in the PIHPS data. For the rice commodity, PIHPS recorded varying prices according to the quality traded in the market. Lower quality I rice was sold at Rp14,650 per kg, while lower quality II rice was at Rp14,600 per kg. In the medium quality rice group, the price of medium I rice was recorded at Rp16,300 per kg and medium II at Rp16,100 per kg. Meanwhile, super quality rice remained the highest, with a price of Rp17,550 per kg for super quality I and Rp17,100 per kg for super quality II.
