There is a bird park on Jl Enggano, Tanjung Priok, North
Jakarta. It is situated precisely between Entrance Seven and
Entrance Eight of the harbor. I was told that the park was
initiated and established by the North Jakarta Administration. It
is a good idea, because they tried to make use of an unused piece
of land.

However, there are a few things that need considering. First,
the traffic at this particular place is always heavy. So the
noise from the vehicles never ceases. Moreover, just behind the
park there is a premises for storing heavy equipment.

After long observation I learned that the birds kept in the
park "are not very happy". It can give enjoyment to the community
but at the price of the birds' suffering. Please have pity on
them!

Second, I cannot understand why they chose that particular
place for a bird park. The problem is that the park can distract
the attention of drivers, which leads to accidents. It would be
much better, and more appropriate, if they prepare a park for
flowers and trees. The trees will produce fresh air, and will
invite birds to come and make the park their shelter.
