Bird mating attracts photographers
DUA ISLAND, Seribu Islands: A number of famous photographers are expected to flock to the Dua Island in Banten bay, Serang regency, next month to picture the mating of thousands of migrating birds from Europe and Asia.
Some of the photographers to take part in the picture-taking safari include Alain Compost, Don Hasman, Riza Marlon, Bas van Balen and Bob Frank, Antara reported.
Sunarto, chairman of a bird-watching club, Symbioses Foundation, said the plan is part of a series of activities in connection with Flora and Fauna Day earlier this month.
The event will also be marked with discussions on nature conservation and techniques of photography.
The 70-hectare Dua Island is inhabited by 99 species of migrating birds and has a population of about 300 birds. (swe)
