Bira denies share sales
JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed Bank Bira denied reports yesterday that General Electric Capital purchased bank shares.
The bank said in a statement that the report was inaccurate.
"At this time, the bank is still in discussion with several parties. When an agreement is reached it will be announced promptly," the bank's statement said.
According to media reports, the U.S.-based GE Capital bought 10 percent of Bank Bira's shares.
The reports said that three U.S. investors, including GE Capital were negotiating with Bank Bira to buy the bank's shares. (04)
