Biosolar B50 Fuel Prices at Pertamina Stations, Effective 31 July 2026
Indonesia has recently launched B50 diesel fuel, which contains a 50% palm oil blend, known as Biodiesel (B50). The launch of B50 is a strategic government agenda aimed at reducing dependence on fuel imports, increasing the added value of national natural resources, and maintaining Indonesia’s economic resilience and energy sovereignty.
According to records from PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, 82% of Pertamina filling stations have been distributing B50 since its implementation began on 1 July 2026. Taufik Aditiyawarman, Deputy President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, stated that the company aims for 100% availability of B50 across the country by September, noting that distribution remains a key challenge.
Regarding pricing, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, explained that the 50% FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Ester) blend applies to various sectors, including non-subsidised fuel. This includes use in mining, agriculture, fisheries, maritime, railways, and transport sectors.
The price for Biosolar B50 remains fundamentally the same as the government-set price for subsidised diesel. The primary difference is the increased percentage of biodiesel; previously, Biosolar contained a 40% blend (B40), but this has now been increased to 50% (B50). This means one litre of fuel now consists of 50% diesel and 50% biodiesel/FAME.
“For B50, specifically for domestic consumption that receives subsidies, the price remains at Rp6,800 per litre. There is no price increase, and this is part of our strategy to drive our net-zero emissions, as this is capable of reducing CO2 by approximately 44 million metric tons,” Bahlil explained.
While the retail price for the public remains pegged to the government-mandated subsidised rate, the price for non-subsidised products will be determined by business entities according to formulas set by the government. For economic pricing, B50 will follow the market price of diesel and biodiesel/FAME. Currently, the economic price of diesel is in the range of Rp19,000 to Rp21,000 per litre, while biodiesel prices are typically set by the government on a monthly basis.
The Ministry of ESDM has officially set the Market Index Price (HIP) for July 2026 at Rp14,562 per litre plus transport costs. The calculation for the biodiesel HIP refers to a formula involving the average CPO (Crude Palm Oil) price plus US$85 per ton, adjusted for density and transport costs.

Pertalite: Rp10,000 per litre
Subsidised Diesel: Rp6,800 per litre
Pertamax: Rp16,250 per litre
Pertamax Green 95: Rp17,000 per litre
Pertamax Turbo: Rp19,300 per litre
Dexlite: Rp19,700 per litre
Pertamina Dex: Rp21,150 per litre
